NEW DELHI, Apr 27: According to updated data from the Union health ministry on Thursday, India has recorded 9,355 new Covid infections, bringing the total number of cases to 4.49 crore. The number of active cases has decreased to 57,410, which is 0.13% of the total infections. The country’s Covid recovery rate has been recorded at 98.69%, with 4,43,35,977 people having recovered from the disease. The death toll has increased to 5,31,424, including six fatalities reconciled by Kerala. The daily positivity rate is 4.08%, while the weekly positivity rate is 5.36%. According to the ministry’s website, the case fatality rate stands at 1.18%. The nationwide vaccination drive has administered 220.66 crore doses of Covid vaccine so far, as per the ministry’s website.
