Jammu, Apr 27 : The Revenue and Registration Departments in Jammu Tawi have launched three new online services, as announced by Chief Secretary Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta. The services include the ability to download registered documents online, Aadhaar-based authentication for document registration, and an online portal for Evacuee Property. The launch was attended by several officials, including Financial Commissioner Revenue Shaleen Kabra, Commissioner Secretary IT Prerna Puri, and Secretary Revenue Dr. Piyush Singla.
With the new online downloading feature, citizens can immediately access copies of their registered documents, eliminating the need to visit the Sub Registrar Office the following day to collect them. This will save citizens time and effort and reduce the burden on official staff. Aadhaar-based authentication will enable online identification of parties from the UIDAI server, eliminating the chances of fraud or impersonation and “benami” transactions. This new initiative will pave the way for e-registration in the future.
The Chief Secretary was informed that the Registration portal, NGDRS, has already been integrated with key services such as PAN verification, Rapid Assessment System (RAS), and DigiLocker. He also directed the Department to expedite the Scanning and Digitization of Legacy Registration data from the courts, which will massively benefit citizens in title assurance and reduce the burden on official machinery.
The Custodian General J&K gave a presentation on the launch of the Evacuee Property Portal, jkcustodian.jk.gov.in, which contains a database of all the UT’s evacuee property spread over 14 Lakh kanals. The portal offers services such as e-auction of property, issuance of NOCs, change of use of property, renewal of rent, transfer of allotment, and more.
