New Delhi, Apr 29 : As of Saturday, April 29, India reported 7,171 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total tally of cases to 4.49 crore. The number of active cases has decreased to 51,314, which make up only 0.11% of the total infections. The national COVID-19 recovery rate has been recorded at 98.70%, with over 4.43 crore people having recovered from the disease. The death toll has risen to 5,31,508, with 40 deaths reported in the past day, including 15 reconciled by Kerala. The case fatality rate was recorded at 1.18%.
The Union Health Ministry’s website also stated that over 220.66 crore doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in the country so far, as India continues its vaccination drive to combat the pandemic.
