Bhaderwah, Apr 29: In a step towards self-reliance, inmates at the Bhaderwah Jail in Jammu and Kashmir are receiving computer training. The program is aimed at equipping the inmates with technical skills that can help them secure employment upon their release and lead a better life.
According to officials, the program is being implemented with the help of the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), and it is being conducted in collaboration with the jail administration. The course is designed to teach the basics of computer operation, software installation, and networking.
This initiative has received widespread appreciation from various quarters as it will help the inmates to gain new skills and become financially independent. The training program will not only provide them with an opportunity to earn a livelihood but also help them to lead a dignified life post their release.
This program is one of the many steps taken by the J&K government towards the reformation of prisoners and their rehabilitation into society. It is hoped that such initiatives will help the inmates to reintegrate into society as productive citizens and contribute to the overall development of the state.
