Srinagar, May 9 : Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla is leading a crucial high-level meeting in Srinagar on Tuesday to evaluate the security situation ahead of the upcoming G20 working group meeting in Kashmir and the annual Amarnath Yatra, according to officials. The discussions are expected to focus on recent attacks on security forces in Poonch and Rajouri, which will be given utmost priority during the meeting. The meeting will be attended by Director of the Intelligence Bureau and Jammu and Kashmir Police Chief Dilbagh Singh. Senior officials from intelligence agencies and security forces will provide detailed briefings to the Home Secretary regarding the preparations for the G20 event scheduled from May 22 to 24, as per the officials. In a security review meeting held last week, it was decided that marine units and NSG commandos will secure the water bodies surrounding the G20 event venue, while drones will be employed for aerial surveillance. Furthermore, the meeting will also address the action plan to ensure a smooth and incident-free Amarnath Yatra, which is scheduled to commence next month.
