Srinagar, Apr 05: The Jammu and Kashmir government has attached Superintendent of Police (SP) Traffic in Jammu, alleging dereliction of duty. According to official sources, the SP was attached to the office of the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police, Udhampur-Reasi range, for failing to manage traffic effectively in Jammu.
The move comes amid growing public frustration over traffic congestion in Jammu, which has become a major issue in recent years. The government has been facing criticism from the public for the poor state of traffic management in the city, which has led to frequent traffic snarls and inconvenience for commuters.
The attachment of the SP is seen as a warning to other traffic officials to improve their performance and ensure smooth traffic flow in the city. The government has stated that it will not tolerate any laxity in traffic management and has asked officials to take all necessary steps to ease traffic congestion in the city.
The attachment of the SP is also expected to send a strong message to the public that the government is committed to addressing their concerns and taking action against officials who fail to perform their duties effectively. However, it remains to be seen whether the government’s efforts will translate into improved traffic management in the city.
