Director of Education Department should issue orders immediately
Admission is available without TC in Delhi, Punjab and other states, so why is it not given in Jammu and Kashmir: Amit Kapoor
Jammu, 24 May : President of Parents Association Jammu Amit Kapoor has said that children without TC should be admitted in government schools. He said that if children are admitted in government schools without TC in other states of the country including Delhi and Punjab, then why it is not done in Jammu and Kashmir. He has demanded the Director of School Education Department to issue an order in this regard immediately so that children can get admission in government schools without TC.
Amit Kapoor said this while addressing a press conference in Jammu. He said that 25 percent poor children are not being provided free education under the Right to Education Act in private schools, which is a complete violation of this order. He said that some time ago the director of Kashmir had issued an order in this regard orally but no order has been issued in writing due to which the officials of the department cannot give admission to the children without TC.
Kapoor said that if the parents of a child have not been able to pay the fees during the Corona period, then they should be given exemption to some extent, but private schools are neither giving free education to 25 percent poor children, nor if any child is unable to pay the fees for any reason. If he is not able to give, then he is being given some exemption of fees. Describing this attitude of private schools as inhuman, Kapoor said that they are depriving children of their fundamental right to education.
Kapoor said that the DCs of Jammu, Rajouri and Samba had set up complaints cells but they have not received any evidence so far, while they have also presented several evidences about the high-handedness of private schools. He said that parents of a child could not pay 15000 fees and they were giving 5000 rupees but still their child was not given TC due to which the child’s education is hanging in balance.
He has demanded LG Manoj Sinha to intervene in this matter and stop the loot in private schools so that the parents can get relief. He has also demanded the Director of the Education Department to immediately issue an order for admission in government schools without TC so that children can get relief and their education can be saved from getting wasted.
