Kashmir, June 09 : In a successful operation, the Baramulla police of Jammu and Kashmir rescued approximately 250 tourists who were stranded during their Gondola ride to Gondola Phase 2 Affarwat. Technical glitches in the cable car operations caused the tourists to get stuck at Gondola Phase II Affarwat while returning to the base. The police promptly responded to the situation, with the Gulmarg police station’s rescue teams, led by Inspector Irshad Ahmad, working tirelessly overnight to ensure the safe rescue of the stranded tourists. Eventually, all tourists were brought back to the Gulmarg base without harm. The rescued tourists expressed their gratitude towards the Baramulla Police for their timely assistance.
This incident follows a similar rescue operation conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir police in May, where they successfully saved a tourist family, including four children, who had lost their way and became stranded in the Kangdoori area of Gulmarg. The Gulmarg police station, along with ATVs and Pony Walas, formed rescue teams that diligently searched the Kangdoori area and successfully located and rescued the stranded family, bringing them back to Gulmarg safely.
The prompt and efficient response of the Jammu and Kashmir police in both incidents highlights their commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of tourists visiting the region.
