PM Modi also called for reforms in multilateral financial institutions to expand eligibility criteria, ensuring that finance is accessible to those in need. He emphasized the significance of high-quality data for effective policy-making and efficient public service delivery. Additionally, PM Modi discussed his government’s efforts to boost development in over 100 aspirational districts, urging delegates to study the model for its relevance. He stressed that decisions made by the Global South countries carry great significance for humanity, particularly in light of the challenges posed by the global COVID pandemic and geopolitical tensions. PM Modi concluded by highlighting Varanasi’s historical significance as a center of knowledge, culture, and spirituality, making it a fitting location for the G20 development ministers’ meeting.
