Srinagar, June 17: In a proud and momentous event, the first batch of Agniveers from the Jammu & Kashmir Light Infantry completed their attestation in a grand ceremony held at the JAK LI Regimental Centre in Srinagar. The ceremony, attended by parents and instructors, showcased the remarkable transformation of these young individuals into confident, capable, and proud soldiers and citizens.
The ceremony commenced with a Rashtriya Salute to the National Flag, followed by the swearing-in oath and a parade review by the Commandant. The piping of Agniveers added to the solemnity, concluding with the Regimental Song and the National Anthem, as the Agniveers pledged their dedication to serving the nation.
The rigorous training program, which began on January 1, spanned 24 weeks, focusing on enhancing physical fitness, endurance, mental strength, and soldierly skills essential for victory in battle. The training also emphasized character building, instilling regimental traditions, imparting military history and ethos, fostering camaraderie, and nurturing an unwavering spirit.
Following the attestation, the Agniveers will undergo another seven weeks of intense training before joining their respective units located throughout the country. Alongside military training, they received instruction on various subjects, empowering them to become responsible, contributing citizens of the nation. The Agniveers exemplify qualities such as teamwork, leadership, and dynamism. Their discipline, vibrancy, dedication, and determination to overcome challenges embody the spirit of a confident generation poised to carry the nation forward in the 21st century.
