Srinagar, June 19: Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha presided over a high-level meeting today to evaluate the preparedness of various departments and agencies for the upcoming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra. The meeting witnessed the participation of key officials including Sh Shaleen Kabra, Principal Secretary of the Jal Shakti Department; Dr Mandeep Kumar Bhandari, CEO of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board; Lt General Rajiv Ghai, GOC 15 Corps; Sh Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, senior officials from SASB, BRO, and representatives from telecommunication service providers.
During the meeting, LG Sinha reviewed the progress of track upgradation by BRO, the installation of safety railings on vulnerable stretches, snow clearance, establishment of Army Tents, and enhancement of telecommunication connectivity. He directed the telecom service providers to improve network connectivity and increase bandwidth along the yatra route. The works undertaken by the Irrigation and Flood Control department were also assessed by the LG.
LG Sinha emphasized the need for increased resource mobilization and manpower to ensure the timely completion of all related projects well ahead of the yatra’s commencement. The meeting was attended by Dr Raghav Langer, Secretary of the Planning, Development, and Monitoring Department; Syeed Fakhrudin Hamid, Deputy Commissioner of Anantnag; Shyambir, Deputy Commissioner of Ganderbal, and senior officials from other concerned departments.
