White House Hosts Intimate Dinner for US President, First Lady, and PM Modi

Washington, Jun 22:  US President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden warmly welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi for an intimate dinner at the White House. The leaders were photographed together, showcasing their close bond and engaged in conversation. The evening featured a musical tribute to the diverse regions of India, adding cultural significance to the event. In attendance were National Security Advisors from both countries, Jake Sullivan and Ajit Doval, further emphasizing the importance of bilateral relations. Prime Minister Modi expressed gratitude for the hospitality extended by the Bidens, stating that they had fruitful discussions on various subjects. Earlier in the day, First Lady Jill Biden hosted a joint event with Modi at the National Science Foundation, focusing on shared educational priorities. A grand State Dinner, attended by 400 guests, is scheduled for Thursday at the South Lawn of the White House. Additionally, Prime Minister Modi will address a joint session of the US Congress during his visit. As an official gift, the Bidens will present him with a precious antique American book galley, a vintage American camera, and a book featuring stunning American wildlife photography. Prior to his arrival in Washington, Modi led a significant International Day of Yoga commemoration at the UN Headquarters in New York. The Prime Minister’s visit to the US spans from June 21 to 24, following an invitation from President Biden and the First Lady.
