Jammu & Kashmir, June 22: Mehbooba Mufti, the former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and the leader of the Jammu and Kashmir People’s Democratic Party, arrived in Patna on Thursday to participate in the opposition meeting scheduled for the following day. Mufti, who was greeted by journalists at the airport, did not entertain questions and proceeded directly to the guest house where the invitees are accommodated. The meeting, called by Bihar Chief Minister and JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar, aims to foster opposition unity ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Kumar has been advocating for opposition unity since severing ties with the BJP last year. Notably, Mufti previously headed a coalition government with the BJP before resigning due to differences with the ally. Subsequently, Jammu and Kashmir was placed under President’s rule until the revocation of Article 370 and its division into two Union territories.
