Srinagar, July 12: The weather department in Jammu and Kashmir has predicted mainly dry weather with the possibility of isolated light rain and thunderstorms until July 14. However, intermittent light to moderate rain is expected in many places of J&K from July 15 to July 17, according to an official from the meteorological department.
Regarding the minimum temperature, Srinagar recorded a low of 16.8°C, slightly higher than the previous night’s temperature of 16.4°C but still 1.3°C below the normal for the summer capital. Qazigund, a gateway town in the Kashmir Valley, recorded a low of 14.5°C, 2.0°C below normal. Pahalgam, a popular tourist resort in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, recorded a low of 10.6°C, slightly below normal by 1.4°C. In Kupwara town in north Kashmir, the mercury settled at 14.9°C, below normal by 1.5°C. Kokernag recorded a low of 14.7°C, 1.2°C below normal. Gulmarg, the famous skiing resort in Baramulla district, recorded a low of 11.2°C, 0.6°C below normal.
Meanwhile, Jammu, the winter capital of J&K, recorded a low of 27.2°C, higher by 2.5°C compared to the previous night. Other places such as Banihal, Batote, Katra, and Bhaderwah recorded minimum temperatures of 17.4°C, 17.3°C, 23.6°C, and 14.2°C, respectively.
As per the meteorological department, the upcoming days are expected to have mainly dry weather conditions, with intermittent light to moderate rain likely from July 15 to July 17 in various parts of Jammu and Kashmir.
