Srinagar, July 21: The Meteorological Department in Jammu and Kashmir has issued a weather forecast for the next 24 hours, indicating a generally cloudy sky with the possibility of light to moderate rain in several areas of Poonch and Rajouri. Additionally, scattered places across the region may experience rain during this period.
The weather official reported that heavy rainfall is likely in some areas of Poonch, Rajouri, and Reasi districts. On July 22, intermittent light to moderate rain and thundershowers are expected in various places in Jammu and scattered areas in Kashmir.
Due to the prevailing weather conditions, there is a risk of flash floods and mudslides in vulnerable spots of Poonch and Rajouri today. The authorities have issued a cautionary advisory, urging people to remain vigilant and avoid streams, rivers, and other susceptible locations.
Rainfall data for the last 24 hours, until 0830 hours today, shows minimal precipitation in Srinagar, with 0.1mm recorded, traces in Qazigund, 5.3mm in Pahalgam, 2.7mm in Kupwara, 2mm in Gulmarg, and 0.2mm in Jammu. Bhaderwah received 33.4mm, while Batote saw 1.6mm of rainfall.
The minimum temperature recorded today is 21.7°C in Srinagar, 19.8°C in Qazigund, 16.0°C in Pahalgam, 16.2°C in Kupwara, 19.3°C in Kokernag, 14.3°C in Gulmarg, 27.0°C in Jammu, 20.6°C in Banihal, 20.4°C in Batote, 23.2°C in Katra, and 18.6°C in Bhaderwah.”
