Srinagar, July 29: Jammu and Kashmir witnessed continuous rainfall, and the local meteorological department has forecasted “fairly widespread light to moderate” rain and thunderstorms for the next 24 hours. According to an official from the meteorological department, the region can expect isolated to scattered light rain and thunderstorm activity over the subsequent two days.
In the last 24 hours until 8:30 a.m. today, the recorded rainfall data includes Srinagar with 11.7mm, Qazigund with 1.2mm, Pahalgam with 8.1mm, Kupwara with 8.8mm, Kokernag with 2.4mm, Gulmarg with 7.2mm, Jammu with 33.8mm, Banihal with traces, Batote with 1.1mm, Katra with 19.6mm, and Bhaderwah with 9.8mm.
The recorded temperatures during this period were as follows: Srinagar with a low of 16.3°C, Qazigund with 16.6°C, Pahalgam with 13.2°C, Kupwara town with 14.8°C, Kokernag with 16.7°C, Gulmarg with 14.8°C, Jammu with 24.5°C, Banihal with 17.3°C, Batote with 18.0°C, Katra with 21.5°C, and Bhaderwah with 18.2°C, as per the official statement.
