JAMMU, Jul 31: In the early hours of Monday, Border Security Force (BSF) personnel shot dead a Pakistani intruder along the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir’s Arnia sector. This marks the second such incident within a week.
The incident occurred near the Jabowal border outpost, where the intruder managed to cross the border fence. Despite repeated warnings, the intruder attempted to flee, leading the alert border guards to neutralize him.
A BSF spokesperson confirmed the incident, stating that vigilant troops had observed suspicious movement across the International Border in the Arnia border area. Swift action was taken by the BSF to thwart the infiltration attempt.
Following the incident, the area was cordoned off, and a search operation is currently underway. The body of the intruder is being retrieved from the scene.
In a previous incident on July 25, another Pakistani intruder carrying more than four kilograms of high-grade heroin was also shot dead by the BSF in the Ramgarh sector of Samba district.
