Doda, July 31: The Additional Deputy Commissioner Doda Dr R K Bharti today convened a meeting of all members of District Environment Committee(DEC) to discuss the progress on Action Areas taken up by different departments for implementation of District Environment Plan (DEP) in the district.
The meeting was attended by all the members of the committee including ACD Doda, ACP Doda, GM DIC, SE PWD, CEO Doda, CMO Doda, DFO Doda, Divisional Officer PCC Doda, CMO, DMO Doda, Ex Ens of PDD, PHE and PWD, EOs of MC Doda, Bhaderwah and Thathri, besides other concerned officials.
ADC Bharti appreciated the efforts of all the members in finalising and uploading the DEP on the designated portal.
Threadbare discussion was held on the submitted action plans by the agencies for the implementation of the District Environment Plan in the district for affective environmental conservation and improving parameters in the district.
The meeting discussed all the Action Areas taken up by different departments of district Doda including Afforestation drive, Disposal of Bio medical waste, restoration of water bodies in district, restoration/creation of ponds/water bodies, enforcement and monitoring guidelines for sand mining, implementation of action Plan for enforcement of E-waste/Solid waste / Industrial waste management, and other like issues.
The concerned officers/ Officials briefed the ADC about the progress on action areas pertaining to their departments for implementation of DEP in the district.
After discussing the pros and cons of action areas, the ADC urged all stakeholders to implement the directions as enshrined in the District Environment Plan, aimed at improving overall parameters of environment in the district.
