New Delhi, Aug 1: Public sector Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have announced a revision in prices for commercial LPG, cutting the cost of 19 KG commercial LPG gas cylinders by Rs 99.75, according to sources. However, there will be no change in the prices of domestic LPG cylinders.
The new prices will take effect from Tuesday, with the retail sales price of 19kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi set at Rs 1,680. On the other hand, the prices of domestic cooking gas will remain unchanged, as confirmed by sources.
Monthly revisions for both commercial and domestic LPG cylinders occur on the first day of each month, and the new rates will be applicable from August 1. The domestic cooking gas prices were last revised on March 1 this year.
In the preceding month of July, the prices of commercial LPG gas cylinders saw an increase of Rs 7 each, while domestic LPG cylinder prices remained unchanged. Prior to this hike, there were two consecutive price cuts for commercial LPG cylinders in May and June of the current year.
Oil marketing companies usually revise LPG prices on the first day of every month, with domestic cooking gas prices varying across states due to local taxes.
In the past, there have been instances of both price reductions and increases for commercial LPG cylinders, with fluctuations observed over different periods. However, the prices of domestic LPG cylinders have remained steady with no revision in the recent months.
