SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) has formulated a new syllabus and academic calendar for classes up to 8th standard. The move is aimed at streamlining the education system in the region and providing students with a structured learning environment.
According to the new academic calendar, the academic session for the current academic year will begin in April and end in December, with periodic assessments and tests to be conducted throughout the year. The syllabus has been designed to incorporate the latest educational practices and ensure that students receive a comprehensive and well-rounded education.
The J&K SCERT has also taken into account the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on education and has included provisions for online learning and distance education in the new academic calendar. The council has stated that it will continue to monitor the situation and make necessary changes to the academic calendar as required.
The formulation of a new syllabus and academic calendar is a positive step towards improving the quality of education in Jammu and Kashmir. It is hoped that the new measures will help bridge the learning gap caused by the pandemic and provide students with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in the future.
