JAMMU, Apr 12: The Jammu and Kashmir government has ordered the transfer and posting of two police officers. According to the official notification, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shridhar Patil has been transferred from his current post as the head of the Kathua district police to serve as the new SSP of the Srinagar district police.
Meanwhile, the current SSP of the Srinagar district police, Sandeep Choudhary, has been transferred to serve as the new DIG of the South Kashmir range.
The decision was taken by the Jammu and Kashmir government after a review of the law and order situation in the region. The new appointments are expected to bring fresh perspective and ideas to the respective police departments and help maintain peace and order in the region.
The transfer of the police officers has also been met with some criticism, with some members of the opposition party questioning the timing and motive behind the decision.
The Jammu and Kashmir government has not yet commented on the criticism, and the two officers are expected to assume their new positions shortly.
