New Delhi, August 16: Prime Minister Narendra Modi commemorated the death anniversary of BJP stalwart Atal Bihari Vajpayee on Wednesday, highlighting the substantial advantages India reaped under his leadership. In his tribute to the former prime minister, Modi emphasized Vajpayee’s instrumental role in advancing India’s progress across a diverse array of sectors, propelling the nation into the 21st century.
“I stand alongside India’s 1.4 billion citizens in honoring the remarkable Atal Ji on his Punya Tithi,” expressed Modi.
As the inaugural prime minister from the BJP, Vajpayee is acclaimed for expanding the party’s influence beyond its traditional support base. His adept management of a coalition government for a successful six-year tenure facilitated reforms and the enhancement of vital infrastructure.
Vajpayee passed away in 2018 at the venerable age of 93.
