Jammu : Scheduled to span the next 11 days, the Budha Amarnath Yatra commenced with thorough security measures in place, as assured by Mukesh Singh, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Jammu. Expressing his well wishes to the pilgrims, ADGP Singh stated, “We have taken all necessary security precautions for the Budha Amarnath Yatra, which began today. The Yatra is scheduled to span the next 11 days. We extend our best wishes to all the devotees on this journey,” as he conversed with the press.
Simultaneously, as the calendar approaches August 31st, the administrative apparatus in the Bandipora district of North Kashmir is meticulously preparing for the forthcoming ‘Chota Amarnath Yatra’. Nestled amidst the captivating expanse of Arin Valley’s dense woodlands, atop a Himalayan peak, lies the revered Maha Daneshwar temple, affectionately known as ‘Chhota Amarnath’. Here, a celestial secret is safeguarded – an ice lingam, a natural formation lovingly touched by trickling water droplets.
The Yatra traverses a 15-kilometre route through the serene Arin-Dardpora region, winding its way via Shampthan before culminating at the esteemed Chota Amarnath Cave. The local residents fervently support this spiritual undertaking, interweaving their endorsement with a fervent appeal for improved infrastructure along the pilgrimage path.
