Srinagar, August 21: Dr. Farooq Abdullah, the President of the National Conference and Member of Parliament from Srinagar, emphasized on Monday that a robust National Conference is a crucial factor for ensuring a strong and dynamic future for Jammu and Kashmir.
In a press release, Dr. Abdullah conveyed these sentiments while extending a warm welcome to BDC Sherpathri and BDC Ganderbal Block, along with their numerous associates, as they joined the party. The event was attended by prominent figures including Omar Abdullah, the Vice President of the party, Ali Mohammad Sagar, the General Secretary, Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, the Additional General Secretary, Nasir Aslam Wani, the Provincial President, Tanvir Sadiq, the Chief Spokesperson, Showkat Mir, the Provincial Secretary, and Sardar J S Azad, the Organiser of the Minority Wing.
Dr. Farooq Abdullah encouraged the new members to remain unwavering in their commitment to serving the people and strengthening the principles of inclusivity that define the party’s political philosophy—an ideology that has endured the test of time. He emphasized, “The emergence of the J&K National Conference as a significant political force has always been a concern for those who oppose the distinctive identity of Jammu and Kashmir. A robust National Conference is not only essential for promoting development in the region, but also for safeguarding its unique identity.” He underlined that the party’s strength originates from the grassroots level and urged the need to channel this support towards the betterment of all individuals, regardless of caste, creed, region, or religion.
Dr. Abdullah highlighted that the National Conference has consistently embraced the values of pluralistic ethos, which have served as a unifying factor among various regions and religions. He stressed the importance of sustaining and promoting this spirit on a large scale to counteract divisive forces effectively.
