Baramulla, August 29: The lifeless body of an engineer from the Roads and Buildings Department, who had been missing for six days, was recovered on Tuesday morning from a barrage in the Gantamulla region of northern Kashmir’s Baramulla district. The deceased has been identified as Gurmeet Singh. His body was retrieved from a barrage connected to the Lower Jhelum Hydroelectric power project.
Reportedly, Gurmeet Singh had vanished from his residence around six days ago, triggering an extensive search operation by the police and other relevant authorities to locate him. Unfortunately, his remains were discovered at the barrage earlier today. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death is currently underway.
