Bhubaneswar, September 27 : In response to Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik giving the Narendra Modi government a rating of ‘8 out of 10’, the state units of the BJP and Congress offered a contrasting perspective, giving the BJD dispensation a resounding ‘zero’ and citing allegations of rampant corruption.
During an event on Sunday, Chief Minister Patnaik had praised Prime Minister Modi, granting his government an ‘8/10’ rating specifically for foreign policy and efforts in poverty alleviation.
Leader of the Opposition, Jaynarayan Mishra from the BJP, expressed, “The CM should unequivocally give a perfect ’10 out of 10′ to the PM for his overall performance. However, I would like to give a score of zero to Patnaik due to his comprehensive failures. The PM’s governance is untainted by corruption, while the Patnaik government is deeply embroiled in allegations of corruption.”
Congress MLA Taraprasad Bahinipati voiced a similar sentiment, stating that he would assign a “solid zero” to both the state and central governments. “Both entities, in our view, have failed to deliver meaningful results for the people,” he asserted.
In contrast, BJD MLA Sashi Bhusan Behera defended Chief Minister Patnaik, remarking, “The CM does not require ratings from individuals like Mishra and Bahinipati. The people of Odisha have consistently supported Patnaik, electing him as CM for five consecutive terms and granting him their trust and approval.”
