New Delhi, September 29th – Union Home Minister Amit Shah lauded the significant progress achieved over the past nine years, highlighting the impact of decisive policies, political stability, and collaborative federal structures. Speaking at the 118th Annual Session of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Shah contrasted this period with the “policy paralysis” experienced from 2004 to 2014.
He emphasized that the nine years of political stability and effective policy-making under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership had resulted in remarkable economic growth. Shah cited impressive statistics, stating that the GDP had nearly doubled, growing from USD 2.03 trillion to USD 3.75 trillion. Furthermore, per capita income had surged from Rs 68,000 in 2013-14 to Rs 1.80 lakh.
Amit Shah praised Prime Minister Modi’s multifaceted efforts to transform India, including the successful organization of the G20 Summit. This initiative had injected fresh energy into various sectors of the country, benefiting trade, industries, and the overall economy.
He emphasized the pivotal role of trade and industries in India’s economic landscape, highlighting how the nation had gained global recognition as a vibrant and attractive destination for investment. Shah noted that India’s youth, vast talent pool, democracy, teamwork, and clear policy formulation were factors contributing to its rise on the global stage.
Shah also pointed out the success of the Production Linked Incentive Scheme in realizing the Make in India vision across 14 sectors within the country. He underscored the importance of the next 25 years for India’s trade and industries, urging them to adapt and expand, even on an international scale.
The Home Minister called for the development of a robust network of small and large industries and encouraged organizations like PHDCCI to provide guidance and infrastructure support.
Lastly, Shah lauded the Modi government’s new education policy, predicting that India would become a premier global destination for students within the next decade.
