New Delhi, Apr 15 : The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) plans to rationalize its textbooks and reduce the syllabus for classes I to XII. The move comes as part of efforts to bring about an effective change in the learning process and reduce the academic burden on students.
According to NCERT officials, the rationalization process will involve a thorough review of the existing textbooks, with the aim of streamlining the curriculum and making it more student-friendly. The textbooks will be revised and updated, taking into consideration the latest developments in various fields.
The officials added that the rationalization process will also ensure that the syllabus is reduced, keeping in mind the need for a balanced curriculum. The syllabus reduction will be done in a phased manner, with the objective of creating a more conducive learning environment for students.
The NCERT is expected to complete the rationalization process in the next few months, after which the updated textbooks will be made available to students. The move is expected to benefit millions of students across the country and help them develop a better understanding of the subjects they study.
