New Delhi : The National Health Authority (NHA) has marked a significant achievement by generating over one crore tokens for outpatient department (OPD) registrations through the Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) based scan and share service.
Launched in October last year as part of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission, this paperless service enables patients to scan the QR code located at the OPD registration counter and swiftly register by sharing their ABHA profile, according to a statement from the health ministry on Tuesday.
Presently operational in more than 2,600 healthcare facilities across 419 districts spanning 33 states and Union territories (UTs), the scan and share service has gained rapid acceptance by states/UTs in public health facilities. It effectively manages queues at patient registration counters and enhances the overall patient service experience.
The health ministry highlighted, “Statistics from the ABDM Public Dashboard indicate the highest usage at institutions such as the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi, Bhopal (MP), and Raipur (Chhattisgarh). Among the top 15 hospitals utilizing the ABHA-based scan and share service, nine are from Uttar Pradesh. Karnataka, Jammu and Kashmir, and Delhi follow closely after UP in terms of the total number of OPD tokens generated.”
Raipur has emerged as the leading health facility in terms of performance for the scan and share service.
To encourage further adoption of the scan and share service by hospitals and Digital Solution Companies (DSCs) providing their technology to healthcare facilities, the National Health Authority offers incentives through the ABDM’s Digital Health Incentive Scheme (DHIS).
Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya highlighted the achievement, stating, “More than 1 crore scan and share e-tokens were generated under Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission. Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji’s government is leveraging the power of technology to transform healthcare.”
