Srinagar, October 13: Security forces in northern Kashmir’s Handwara made a significant discovery on Friday morning, leading to the temporary suspension of traffic on the highway, according to reports.
Citing insider sources, the news agency Kashmir Scroll revealed that an Army road opening party (ROP) came across a suspicious object in the Ganapora area of Kralgund in Handwara early this morning.
In response, the Army team promptly raised an alert, prompting additional teams from both the Army and the police to converge on the site.
As a precautionary measure, the flow of vehicular traffic on the highway was temporarily halted, sources confirmed.
A Bomb Disposal Squad from the Army has been summoned to assess and deal with the suspicious object.
