New Delhi, October 19: The electricity distribution companies, Jammu & Kashmir Power Corporation Ltd (JKPCL) and Rajasthan Urja Vidyut Nigam Limited (RUVNL), have both confirmed their intent to procure power from the energy producer, SJVN Ltd.
According to a regulatory filing made by SJVN on Thursday, JKPCL and RUVNL have given their approval for the acquisition of 600 MW and 500 MW of power, respectively, from SJVN Ltd. This power will be sourced from a total capacity of 1,000 MW, with a tariff rate set at Rs 2.57 per kilowatt-hour.
Furthermore, SJVN Ltd has extended an offer to supply power to beneficiaries in the northern region from a forthcoming 1,000 MW solar PV station to be developed under the CPSU (Central Public Sector Undertaking) scheme of the central government. This solar station will be situated in Poogal tehsil of Bikaner district in Rajasthan.
The power generated by this project will serve government entities, either through direct usage or via distribution companies (discoms).
SJVN Ltd, under the administrative authority of the Union Ministry of Power, operates as a joint venture between the central government and the government of Himachal Pradesh.
