Srinagar, October 20: J&K Congress President, Vikar Rasool, expressed confidence on Friday that the INDIA alliance is poised for a resounding victory in the upcoming Lok Sabha election, asserting that they will secure all the Lok Sabha seats in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh Union Territories.
Speaking to members of the media, Vikar drew parallels between their recent success in the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC)-Kargil elections and the forthcoming Lok Sabha election. In the LAHDC-Kargil polls, the National Conference and Congress alliance clinched 22 out of 26 seats.
Vikar Rasool declared, “Similar to Kargil, we are primed to sweep the Lok Sabha election, and the INDIA alliance will emerge victorious once again.”
The J&K Congress President also emphasized the party’s readiness for the impending Lok Sabha election, reaffirming their commitment to contest it alongside the INDIA alliance. When questioned about seat distribution, Vikar explained that Congress leaders would engage in discussions with alliance partners to determine their respective shares, and they would contest those allotted to them.
Rasool underscored that Congress is a party that represents all sections of society, citing their inclusion of district presidents and members from Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes, Other Backward Classes, women, and individuals under 50 years old during the party’s membership drive.
He refuted reports of factionalism or any lack of cooperation among party members, stating, “I believe Congress is now a robust and united party in Jammu and Kashmir.”
