Srinagar, October 21: On ‘Police Commemoration Day,’ Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha paid solemn tributes to the fallen personnel of the Police and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) at the Martyrs’ Memorial within the Armed Police Complex, Zewan.
Expressing his reverence, the Lieutenant Governor remarked, “I salute the bravehearts of Jammu and Kashmir Police. The nation will forever be indebted to the bravery, courage, and supreme sacrifice of our police personnel who laid down their lives in the line of duty.”
In a poignant ceremony, the arms were reversed, and a profound two-minute silence was observed to honor the memory of the martyrs.
The event witnessed the presence of Aftab Malik, Chairman of the District Development Council, Srinagar; Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor; R K Goyal, Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department; Dilbag Singh, Director General of Police; as well as senior officers from both the Civil and Police Administration who also paid their respects to the valiant Policemen who made the ultimate sacrifice.
