New Delhi, Apr 18: According to the latest update from the Union Health Ministry, India has recorded 7,633 new coronavirus infections, pushing the active cases to 61,233. The death toll has increased to 5,31,152 with 11 new deaths.
Out of the 11 fatalities, four were reported in Delhi, one each in Haryana, Karnataka, and Punjab, while Kerala reconciled four deaths. The country’s COVID-19 recovery rate has been recorded at 98.68%, with the number of people who have recuperated from the disease surging to 4,42,42,474.
The case fatality rate was recorded at 1.18%, and the total COVID-19 case tally stands at 4,48,34,859. The active cases now comprise 0.14% of the total infections. As per the ministry’s website, 220.66 crore doses of Covid vaccine have been administered in the country so far under the nationwide vaccination drive.
