New Delhi , Apr 22 : During his recent visit to Guyana, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar co-chaired the 4th India-CARICOM Ministerial meeting and held bilateral discussions with counterparts from several countries, including Trinidad and Tobago, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Vincent and Grenadines, Barbados, and Jamaica. Topics discussed during these meetings included renewable energy, digital transformation, reformed multilateralism, and the International Solar Alliance. Jaishankar discussed a development partnership focusing on digital transformation and health domains with Amery Browne, Foreign Minister of Trinidad and Tobago, and with Kamina J Smith, his Jamaican counterpart, he discussed cooperation in training and development partnership. With Kerrie Symmonds, Foreign Minister of Barbados, Jaishankar discussed domains of renewable energy, health, and skills. He also met with Grenada’s Foreign Minister to advance development partnership and reaffirmed their belief in reformed multilateralism. Other meetings included discussions with Bahamas Parliamentary Secretary Jamahl Strachen, and the Foreign Ministers of St. Vincent and Grenandines, and St. Kitts and Nevis. Jaishankar’s visit to Guyana was followed by trips to Panama and Colombia where he is scheduled to meet with several top representatives of the government, business, and civil society.
