UTTARAKHAND, Apr 25: Kedarnath Dham Opens to Pilgrims Amidst Floral Decorations and Hymns, but Registrations Halted Due to Inclement Weather .
On Tuesday morning, the doors of Kedarnath Dham, one of the holiest pilgrimage sites in India, opened to pilgrims amidst the chanting of hymns and drumbeats. The temple was adorned with 20 quintals of flowers in preparation for the auspicious event. However, due to heavy snowfall on the pilgrimage route and the India Meteorological Department’s warning of inclement weather, the Uttarakhand government has stopped accepting registration applications from pilgrims for the Kedarnath Dham Yatra. The weather is expected to remain bad in Kedarghati for the next week, and the heavy snowfall has created difficulties for the administration. The Char Dham Yatra began from Yamunotri Dham on the occasion of Akshay Tritiya, and the first batch of pilgrims left Haridwar on Saturday.
