SRINAGAR: The former MLA of Jammu and Kashmir, Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami, has criticized the authorities responsible for implementing the Smart City project in Srinagar for deviating from its fundamental concept. Tarigami pointed out that the initiative was launched with the objective of providing residents with better urban infrastructure and efficient delivery of public services through the use of technology. However, he alleged that the authorities have focused more on cosmetic changes such as landscaping and beautification, rather than addressing the core issues of the project. Tarigami called for a review of the Smart City plan to ensure its successful implementation and improve the living standards of the people in Srinagar.
