Srinagar June 13 : Over 60,000 security personnel from various paramilitary forces will be deployed from Lakhanpur to the Amarnath Cave Shrine during the 62-day long Shri Amarnath Yatra starting from July 1. The deployment is set to begin from June 20. The security measures aim to ensure the safety of pilgrims, with additional troops arriving and snipers and sharpshooters being stationed at strategic locations. Despite security challenges, authorities are prepared to welcome pilgrims without fear, while also bolstering security along the Line of Control and the International Border. The administration has established Tatkal registration counters and will commence online helicopter ticket bookings. Approximately 300,000 pilgrims have already registered for the yatra.
