Poonch/Jammu, August 14 – Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district witnessed the apprehension of an individual by security forces following the discovery of a concealed pistol in his possession on Monday, according to police officials.
The man was identified as Mohd Shabir Anjum, hailing from Bhatidhar village in the Mendhar tehsil. While conducting routine checks in the Kunaiyan area near SK Bridge, security personnel from the CRPF and the Special Operation Group (SOG) became suspicious of an individual’s movements.
Upon becoming aware of the security personnel’s presence, Anjum attempted to flee the scene but was swiftly subdued by them. A subsequent frisking operation led to the recovery of a pistol along with three live rounds from his possession. Subsequently, he was handed over to the Poonch police station for further proceedings.
