New Delhi, July 31 : Continuing their journey of innovation and excellence in power generation, Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB) achieved a remarkable feat on 29th July. BBMB surpassed its own record set on the previous day, generating the highest ever power output of 625.26 Lakh Units in a single day, outdoing the earlier milestone of 615.94 Lakh Units on 28th July. Additionally, BBMB achieved a peak generation of 2784 Megawatts on the same day, surpassing the previous record of 2733 Megawatts achieved on 22nd July.
The Chairman of BBMB, Nand Lal Sharma, hailed this achievement as a historical milestone. Previously, BBMB had achieved a record generation of 604.24 Lakh Units on 21st August in the year 2008, which remained unbeaten for 15 years until 24th of this month, when BBMB generated 615.14 Lakh Units of power. This record was further broken on 28th July, reaching 615.94 Lakh Units, and subsequently scaling even higher to the all-time high of 625.26 Lakh Units on 29th July.
To meet the nation’s growing energy demands, BBMB is committed to continuously upgrading the generating capacity of its power plants through Renovation, Modernization & Updating of its generating units. Recently, BBMB completed the RM&U of Bhakra Left Bank Power House in June this year, resulting in an increased installed capacity from 540 Megawatts to 630 Megawatts.
