Jammu , Aug 19 – The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Jammu, in collaboration with the Jammu Institute of Ayurveda and Research (JIAR), orchestrated a momentous “Vriddha Vriksharopan Abhiyan” or “Mega Medicinal Plantation Drive.” The event witnessed the joint efforts of esteemed dignitaries and enthusiastic participants as they came together to contribute to the preservation of nature and the environment.
Led by Sh. D.S. Hanspal, Inspector General of Police (Medical) CH. Jammu, Sh. Mainul Islam Mondal, Indian Police Service (IPS) officer and Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIGP) for J&K Zone, Sh. Ashok Samyal, DIGP of Jammu sector, Sh. Manoj Dhyani, DIGP of Jammu Sector, along with the support of Sh. Randeep Sharma, Commissioner of Jammu, Mrs. Japna Sharma, CEO of Shri Sain Charitable Trust for Higher Education and Research in Jammu, Dr. Sharada, and Dr. Nitin Mahajan, Vice Principal of JIAR, the event marked a significant step towards sustainable ecological practices.
The initiative, which aimed to foster environmental consciousness and enhance the green cover, saw the participation of not only the dignitaries but also the staff and students of Jammu Institute of Ayurveda and Research. The collaborative effort resulted in the planting of over 500 saplings of diverse medicinal plants including Arjuna, Kachnar, Bel, Amla, Bottle Brush, and Karanj. These medicinal plants are renowned for their therapeutic properties and their incorporation into the campus environment signifies the institution’s commitment to holistic well-being.
The ceremonial planting of these saplings in and around the campus of Jammu Institute of Ayurveda and Research serves as a testament to the shared responsibility of preserving the planet for future generations.
