Pithoragarh (Uttarakhand), Oct 12: Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on a significant visit to the spiritual land of Uttarakhand, known as ‘Devbhoomi.’ During his day-long journey, he commenced the day by offering prayers and conducting a puja at Parvati Kund in Pithoragarh.
The Prime Minister sought blessings at the holy Adi-Kailash, a globally renowned site celebrated for its spiritual significance and awe-inspiring natural beauty.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, PM Modi continued his visit to Gunji village in Pithoragarh district. Here, he engaged with the local community, explored an exhibition showcasing local art and artifacts, and interacted with personnel from the Army, Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), and Border Roads Organization (BRO). At approximately 12 noon, he reached Jageshwar in the Almora district, where he participated in a pooja and darshan at Jageshwar Dham. This sacred site, located at an elevation of about 6200 feet, encompasses approximately 224 stone temples.
Prime Minister Modi also laid the foundation stone for several development projects amounting to around Rs 4,200 crore, spanning various sectors such as rural development, road infrastructure, power, irrigation, drinking water, horticulture, education, health, and disaster management.
The PMO further detailed that the projects include the construction of 21,398 poly-houses to enhance flower and vegetable production while ensuring their quality. The initiatives also involve high-density intensive apple orchards, road upgrades, disaster preparedness measures, and infrastructure enhancements related to fire, health, and forestry. Additionally, development projects for hostels and computer labs in 20 model degree colleges across the state, the establishment of a 100-bedded sub-district hospital in Someshwar, Almora, and a 50-bedded hospital block in Champawat are part of the plan. Moreover, the development of sports facilities like an Astroturf Hockey Ground at Haldwani Stadium in Nainital and a Velodrome Stadium in Rudrapur are on the agenda. The Manaskhand Mandir Mala Mission Scheme for infrastructure development in temples, including Jageshwar Dham (Almora), Haat Kalika (Pithoragarh), and Naina Devi (Nainital), temples, is also part of these comprehensive initiatives.
