Udhampur, August 11th: In anticipation of the upcoming 76th Independence Day celebrations on August 15th, security measures have been significantly bolstered across the Udhampur district in Jammu and Kashmir. The focus remains on safeguarding the vital Jammu-Srinagar National Highway, with security forces actively patrolling and overseeing the area.
Preparations are underway for India’s Independence Day, where the Prime Minister is slated to deliver a national address from the historic Red Fort. Alongside continuous security checks, authorities are conducting thorough inspections of vehicles throughout the region.
“As the nation gears up to commemorate Independence Day, proactive security measures have been amplified in the Udhampur region of Jammu and Kashmir. A special emphasis is being placed on securing the critical Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. Around-the-clock security screenings and vehicle searches are being diligently conducted across the entire area,” revealed sources.
During his recent visit to Kishtwar district, Sunil Gupta, the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban (DKR) Range, led an extensive assessment of security arrangements. The evaluation was aimed at ensuring a robust security apparatus in anticipation of the upcoming Independence Day celebrations and the “Meri Matti Mera Desh” campaign.
