New Delhi, July 27: EPFO Extends Deadline for Higher Pension Application till July 11
The Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has announced an extension of the deadline for members to apply for a higher pension until July 11. This decision aims to provide eligible pensioners/members with an additional 15-day opportunity to address any difficulties they may be facing. The Ministry of Labour & Employment released a statement confirming the extension and emphasizing the importance of resolving any outstanding issues.
This extension marks the third time the EPFO has prolonged the deadline. Initially, the deadline was set from March 3 to May 3, which was later extended to June 26. The subsequent extensions were granted to ensure that pensioners have sufficient time to address any concerns they may encounter during the application process.
In November of the previous year, the Supreme Court ruled that EPFO employees who were part of the organization before September 1, 2014, and remained in service after that date could avail themselves of the joint option under the EPS. The court granted a four-month window for such employees to exercise this option, which has now been further extended to accommodate any pending applications.
