Srinagar, October 10: Following overnight rainfall in the plains and snowfall in the upper reaches, the weather in most parts of Jammu and Kashmir has cleared up. The meteorological department has forecast mainly clear skies in the region until October 13.
An official from the meteorological department in Srinagar mentioned that there might be a brief spell of rain or snowfall in higher elevations, but the likelihood is low. He further stated that the weather is expected to remain predominantly dry from October 11 to 13.
Starting from October 14 and continuing until October 17, intermittent light to moderate rain and snowfall in higher altitudes are anticipated in many areas of Jammu and Kashmir. The chances of such precipitation during this period range from 60% to 70%.
Regarding the rainfall recorded from the previous evening until 0830 hours today, the official provided the following data: Srinagar received 16.7mm, Qazigund 17.2mm, Pahalgam 16.6mm, Kupwara 3.6mm, Kokernag 21.0mm, Gulmarg 26.6mm, Jammu 27.5mm, Banihal 30mm, Batote 35.2mm, Katra 32.4mm, and Bhaderwah 18.4mm.
