NEW DELHI, Apr 22: Former Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik visited a police station in R K Puram area in southwest Delhi voluntarily, along with his supporters, and was not detained, according to Delhi Police. The police clarified that Malik was supposed to attend a meeting at an MCD park in R K Puram, but upon being informed that the location was not suitable and that he had not obtained the necessary permissions, he left the area and visited the police station. The Delhi Police also refuted false news on social media about Malik’s detention. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had requested Malik to answer queries related to an alleged insurance scam in Jammu and Kashmir, marking the second time in seven months that the agency questioned him. The CBI’s move came a week after Malik gave an interview critical of the BJP-led Centre’s handling of Jammu and Kashmir.
