Jammu, Aug 4: On Friday, a fresh contingent of 1181 pilgrims set off from Bhagwati Nagar Base Camp, resonating with the chants of ‘Bam Bam Bhole,’ to embark on the revered Amarnath Yatra in the South Kashmir Himalayas. The group departed in a well-organized convoy of 46 vehicles.
Among the pilgrims, 706 individuals, including 570 males, 95 females, 35 Sadhus, and six Sadhvis, commenced their journey towards Pahalgam in a convoy comprising 24 vehicles. Additionally, 475 pilgrims, consisting of 327 males, 138 females, and ten children, headed towards Baltal in a convoy of 22 vehicles. Stringent security measures were in place to ensure a safe and secure pilgrimage.
The Amarnath Yatra, which commenced on July 1, is scheduled to conclude on August 31.
