SRINAGAR, May 20: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha expressed confidence that the upcoming G-20 tourism working group meeting in Jammu and Kashmir will not only attract more tourists but also stimulate investments in the region. The three-day meeting, scheduled to commence on May 22 in Srinagar, has already seen extensive preparations by the administration and the people of Jammu and Kashmir, who have extended their wholehearted cooperation.
Inaugurating the six-kilometer stretch of the Jhelum River Front at Rajbagh, Lt. Governor Sinha emphasized that the success of the event would send a powerful message to the world and contribute to increased tourism and investments in the region. He also highlighted that the development of Srinagar as a world-class city aims to preserve its rich cultural heritage while boosting the local economy.
The Jhelum-Rajbagh River Front, created by Srinagar Smart City Limited, offers international-level amenities such as Wi-Fi zones, cycle tracks, and walkways. Additionally, plans are underway to establish a library and cafes in the area, further enhancing its appeal to visitors. Lt. Governor Sinha expressed optimism that the transformed landscape of Srinagar, combined with the traditional hospitality of Kashmir, would captivate the world and position the region as a premier tourist destination.
