Jammu, May 17 : Union Minister Jitendra Singh expressed that the upcoming G20 meeting in Srinagar presents a significant platform for Jammu and Kashmir to highlight its true potential. Ahead of joining the BJP’s one-day working committee meeting, Singh mentioned that he, along with Union Tourism Minister G Kishan Reddy, will attend the meeting inaugurated by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha.
Scheduled to take place from May 22 to 24, the third G20 Tourism Working Group meeting will be held in the summer capital of Srinagar. Singh emphasized that while the delegates may engage in sightseeing at Dal Lake and witness cultural programs on May 22, the real business discussions will transpire over the following two days.
Singh, who represents the Udhampur parliamentary constituency in Jammu and Kashmir, believes that hosting an international event of this scale in Srinagar will send a positive message within the country and globally.
Regarding the agenda of the working committee meeting, he mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is completing nine years in office, and the party intends to celebrate this milestone nationwide.
Additionally, J&K BJP president Ravinder Raina presided over the working committee meeting, attended by senior party leaders, including BJP National General Secretary and J&K in-charge Tarun Chugh, who joined virtually from Delhi. The BJP plans to commemorate the nine-year tenure of the Modi-led government at the Centre from May 30 to June 22 and organize public rallies across all constituencies in Jammu and Kashmir.
Simultaneously, the Union Minister is chairing a high-level meeting of heads of various educational institutes, including Vice Chancellors, directors, and other institutional leaders, on Thursday. The meeting aims to foster strong inter-institutional collaboration among universities and institutions in the region, with the participation of Principal Scientific Advisor (PSA) to the Government Prof Ajay Sood and Director General of CSIR and Secretary DSIR, Dr N Kalaiselvi.
