JAMMU, Apr 6: In his autobiography, senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad has accused the late PDP leader Mufti Mohammad Sayeed of misusing his generosity to become the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir in 2002.
Azad, who was the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir at the time, claims that he had helped Mufti Mohammad Sayeed to become the Chief Minister by resigning from his position. However, he alleges that Mufti did not honor the power-sharing agreement that they had agreed upon, which resulted in Azad being sidelined from the party.
In his autobiography, titled “A Chat with My Life”, Azad also talks about his journey from a small village in Jammu and Kashmir to the highest levels of Indian politics. He touches on various topics, including his interactions with prominent politicians such as Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, and Sonia Gandhi, as well as his experiences as a Minister in the central government.
Azad’s revelations have caused a stir in the political circles of Jammu and Kashmir, with many questioning the timing of his accusations. However, Azad maintains that he is not seeking any political gain from his autobiography and is only sharing his story for the benefit of future generations.
The autobiography is set to be released on April 9 and is expected to shed light on many unknown aspects of Azad’s life and the political landscape of Jammu and Kashmir.
